Vietnam vet thanks veterans agent

By

Dear Tony Andreotti:

I am writing to thank you and your committee for putting together the program honoring the Vietnam Era veterans on Sunday, September 11.

Andreotti receiving the Commanders' Award for Public Service

As a veteran who served in Vietnam from February 1968 to February 1969, I felt a sense of homecoming from the moment I was greeted at the registration table. Listening to the words of Selectman Chairman John Connolly, Colonel LaBollita and Brigadier General Sellars renewed in me a sense of pride in service to our country. The roll call and presentation of the key chain gift added a special moment to the event.

Some of my family, children and grandchildren were able to experience this day with me and gain an appreciation for what Vietnam veterans went through. Congratulations to you on your service award. It was long overdue for the work you have done and continue to do for the veterans of the town of Canton.

I will proudly wear the Vietnam veterans hat and carry the key chain with me daily.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to have this time in my life so publicly acknowledged.

Sincerely yours,

James T. Cahill
