Pauline P. Nemes of Rocky Nook, Kingston, formerly of Hyde Park, Westwood and Canton, died peacefully at her home on Friday, August 26, 2011.

Born in Mission Hill, Boston, she graduated from Mission High School in 1944. While working at the Charlestown Navy Yard, she met her husband, Julius G. Nemes, of Sharon, PA, whom she adored for 55 years.

While raising seven children, Mrs. Nemes was an active member and former president of St. Raphael’s Guild in Hyde Park. She served on the Boston Police Department as a traffic supervisor for many years. She was an active member and resident of Rocky Nook Brewster Park in Kingston. She was also a member of the Canton Women’s Club and was instrumental in the planning of the Canton Bicentennial Celebration of 1976.

Beloved wife of the late Julius G. Nemes, BFD. Mrs. Nemes leaves seven dedicated children: Jon Nemes and his wife, Marilyn, of Moorhead City, NC; Paul Nemes and his wife, Libby, of Norwood; Carl Nemes and his wife, Janeen, of Rygate, VT; Mark Nemes and his wife, Luanne, of Duxbury; Julianne Walsh and her husband, Michael, of Westwood; Dana Nemes and his wife, Patti, of Kingston; and Eric Nemes and his wife, Kathryn, of Plymouth.

She is also survived by 22 loving and dedicated grandchildren: Carrie, John, Jeffrey, Meghan, Andrew, Carl, Christopher, Kelli, Kristi, Katie, Abigail, Aidan, Mairead, Dana, Brendan, Natalie, Patrick, Timothy, Ryan, Erik, Emma-Kate, and Molly, as well as 10 great-grandchildren and 38 nieces and nephews. Sister of Helen O’Brien of Canton, Kathleen Ehlers of Roanoke, VA, and the late Paul Flaherty, Edward Flaherty, Anne Knight, Marie Davidson, and Lillian Doherty. Pauline is also survived by her dedicated and loving friend Constantine “Dino” Charos of Melrose.

A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday morning, August 31, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Interment Canton Corner Cemetery. If desired, donations may be made in Pauline’s memory to the Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements by the Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street.
