Gratitude for an ‘amazing partnership’

By

Dear Editor:

St Gerard’s in Canton and House of Possibilities have an amazing partnership. The St. Gerard’s youth group has been volunteering this year, and I have had the pleasure of working with them for the past six months. We have parties or socials called “Saturday Night Live” for special needs teens and adults. Every month there is a van with anywhere from 10 to 25 teens from St. Gerard’s youth group that show up to HOPe and throw a party. The St. Gerard’s crew works with me and plans the parties as well as running all the activities. They recently came and put on an amazing carnival outside at HOPe. The clients told me that it was the best Saturday Night Live so far. They also sent a group of about 30 teens to HOPe on Monday to help out with the adult day-hab program. They did a scavenger hunt at Stonehill and also brought lunch for a picnic outside. It was an amazing week here at HOPe with St Gerard’s. I am so grateful for the St. Gerard’s youth group. It is a wonderful display of hope, faith and community. They are an amazing group of kids, and I am grateful to have the pleasure of working with them.

Sincerely,

Amy Busch
