Boys’ tennis beats Stoughton, falls to KP & OA

Senior captain Scott Chamberlain (1st doubles)

The Canton High boys’ tennis team managed to finish its action-packed week on a high note, defeating the Stoughton Knights on Friday by a margin of 4-1. The home victory raised the Bulldogs’ record on the season to 3-4.

The lopsided victory showed the Bulldogs’ trademark resiliency, as they were able to bounce back nicely from two tough road losses earlier in the week. CHS fell to King Philip 4-1 on April 25 and lost a 3-2 heartbreaker to Oliver Ames on Wednesday, April 27.

Thursday’s match at Dedham High School was postponed due to rain and rescheduled for May 19. The Bulldogs looked to carry their momentum from Friday’s victory into matches against Attleboro and Franklin on May 2 and 4, as they look to go over .500 for the first time since their inaugural match of the season.

Note: Individual results from last week’s matches were not made available to the Citizen.
