Paul E. Keleher, 88, of Canton, formerly of Norwood, passed away February 23 at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton. Born and raised in Canton, he graduated from Canton High School, where he was a star quarterback on the football team and pitcher on the baseball team and then went on to graduate from Syracuse University.

He served in the Army during WWII in the First Division, the Big Red One, and saw combat in the Battle of the Bulge and the Battle of Archen. He also served as a recon scout and was awarded the Bronze Star, and at the conclusion of the war he was a star pitcher for the First Division baseball team.

Paul worked as a long distance shipper for Red Starr Trucking and several other trucking companies. He was a former member of the American Legion Post and the VFW in Norwood and was an avid golfer.

He was the beloved husband of the late Elizabeth (Keyes). Brother of the late Esther Waller, Martha Wirzberger, Anna Harrington, Eloise Gay, and Daniel Keleher. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. A funeral mass was held Monday morning, February 28, in St. John the Evangelist Church, Canton. Interment Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
