The 10th seeded CHS girls’ ice hockey team pulled off an impressive upset victory over seventh seeded Wellesley Monday night in the opening round of the Division 2 state tournament. Down 2-1 after the first period, the Bulldogs came back to tie the game at 3 before pulling away in the third en route to a 6-4 win at Babson Rink in Wellesley. Canton’s Meaghan McKenna had a hat trick in the victory, and teammate Casey Considine added two goals, including the game winner.

The girls now move on to the quarterfinals, where they will go up against No. 2 Duxbury on Sunday, March 6 (time and location to be announced). See next week’s Citizen for complete coverage of the Bulldogs’ tournament run. (All photos by Mike Barucci, Citizen staff)
