				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Marilyn Rodman, 79, of Canton, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and well-known philanthropist, passed away peacefully on May 13, 2013, at Orchard Cove in Canton. She was the beloved wife of Don Rodman with whom she shared over 60 years of marriage.</p>
<p>Born in the Roxbury section of Boston, Marilyn was a longtime resident of Canton where she immersed herself in the community. She served on the Canton School Committee for 22 years, working on many programs including the Blue Hills Collaborative, a program at the Blue Hills for special-education children, the “Mutual Concerns” school subcommittee, which helped mediate administrative problems, and the Canton Diversity program. Marilyn also helped create or promote the Employee Assistance program for teachers, the Read-Aloud program, the Academic Olympics, and the Canton Sports Foundation. She was passionate in her work with the Rodman Ride for Kids, the Marilyn Rodman Theatre for Kids, and many other community based philanthropic endeavors.</p>
<p>Marilyn was a member of the Canton Rotary Club, the Canton Fine Arts Council, the Canton Education Alliance, the Mass Art Education Committee, and was once named the “Friend of Education” by the Canton Teachers Association. In 2006, the town of Canton dedicated the Marilyn G. Rodman Educational and Administrative Center at Canton High School in honor of her selfless service and advocacy to the youth of Canton. She received many other awards and recognition for her philanthropy, including the prestigious Charles E. Rogerson Award for Community Service. Above all else, Marilyn adored her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her legacy of service to others will long live through her beloved family.</p>
<p>In addition to her husband, Marilyn is survived by five sons, Gene Rodman of Braintree, Curtis Rodman and his wife, Marsha, of Canton, Craig Rodman and his wife, Liz, of Natick, Brett Rodman and his wife, Tricia, of Canton, and Bart Rodman of Braintree; nine grandchildren, Sheryl, Rachel, Michael, Jayne, Molly, Jordan, Lexi, Olivia, and Geno; and three great-grandchildren, Curtis, Clayton, and Leo. She was the sister of the late Sandra Schlossberg, whose husband, Sy, survives her.</p>
<p>Funeral service in Temple Beth Abraham, 1301 Washington Street in Canton, on Sunday, May 19, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The Rodman family will receive visitors at the temple on Sunday after the burial until 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Marilyn’s memory may be made to the Marilyn Rodman Theatre for Kids program, 10 Lincoln Rd., Foxboro, MA 02035.</p>

<p>Born and raised in Dorchester, she graduated from St. Margaret’s High School. She has lived in Easton since 2011 and previously lived in Canton for 53 years. Rita enjoyed spending time with her family and summering in Martha’s Vineyard.</p>
<p>Beloved wife of Robert P. Sr. Mother of Mary A. Walsh and her husband, Joseph, of Norton, Joanne Nolan and her husband, David, of Mansfield, Kathy A. Pernock and her husband, Christopher, of Easton, Robert P. Hasenfuss Jr. of Dorchester, and the late Diane M. Pierce. Loving grandmother of Megan, Kenny, Kate, Caitlin, Kyle, Mary Alice, and Bridget. Also survived by many other loving extended family members.</p>
<p>A funeral mass was held Monday, May 13, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. <p>Born in Champaign, Illinois, he attended school in Bellwood, IL, and was a veteran of the United States Navy. After serving in the Navy he attended Northeastern University and took classes through the VA Bill. He has lived in Canton for the last 12 years and previously lived in Medford.</p>
<p>He worked for Polaroid Corporation as a mechanical engineer for 35 years and retired in 1996. He summered for many years in West Yarmouth and was a member of the Lewis Bay Yacht Club.</p>
<p>Beloved fiancé of Joanne Gallagher Quinn of Canton. Husband of the late Joan F. (Haiduven). Father of Denise Delaney of Whately, Kimberly Russo of Norwalk, CT, and Ronald T. Delaney Jr. of Jupiter, FL. Grandfather of Samantha and Amanda Russo and Erik and Olivia Delaney. Also survived by his future stepsons, Daniel R. Quinn of Roslindale and Matthew L. Quinn of Walpole.</p>

He graduated from Canton High School and was a Marine Corps veteran of WWII. He was a self-employed Electrolux Vacuum Cleaner salesman for many years before retiring. He had his private pilot’s license and enjoyed flying from the old Canton Airport and Wiggin’s Airport in Norwood. He was an avid gardener and sports enthusiast.</p>
<p>Beloved husband of Lena H. (Giammarco). Father of Albert R. Kenefick Jr. and his wife, I-Shing, of CA, David A. Kenefick and his partner, Michael Toppan, of NH, Mary Jane Stanlaske of East Walpole, and John Kenefick and his wife, Heesong, of CA. Brother of Joyce Buckley of Canton and the late Francis Kenefick. Grandfather of Vikki Cunningham of East Walpole, Robert Stanlaske of PA, and Dylan Kenefick of CA. Also survived by five great-grandchildren.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.thecantoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/donnelly_frances.jpg"><img class="alignleft  wp-image-20451" alt="donnelly_frances" src="http://www.thecantoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/donnelly_frances.jpg" width="96" height="134" /></a>She was a Falmouth resident since 1971 and the wife of the late Lieutenant Commander John D. Donnelly, USN (Ret.), who died in 1999. They were married for 47 years. Pat Donnelly was born and raised in Cliffside Park, NJ. She was a 1951 graduate of Englewood Hospital School of Nursing, NJ.</p>
<p>She worked in many hospitals where her husband, a career naval officer, was stationed. She was a volunteer at Falmouth Hospital for over 20 years, working in the x-ray department. Pat was loved for her kindness, humor and inquisitive mind.</p>
<p>She is survived by her three sons and their families: Vice Admiral John J. Donnelly, USN (Ret.) and his wife, Mimi, of Annapolis, MD; Captain Michael D. Donnelly, USN (Ret.) and his wife, Candy, of St. Augustine, FL; and Brian B. Donnelly and his wife, Janet, of Canton. She had seven grandchildren: Lieutenant Commander Michael P. Donnelly, USN, Lieutenant Commander John C. Donnelly, USN, Lieutenant Sara R. Donnelly, USN, David J. Donnelly, Marie J. Donnelly, Laura M. Donnelly, and Erin L. Donnelly.</p>

<p>Born and raised in Boston, he graduated from Memorial High School in Boston and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He previously owned and operated a Sunoco Service Station in Egelston Square and a Citgo Service Station in South Boston before retiring. He was the first president of the Spindles IX Club of Boston. He has lived in Albany for the past five years.</p>
<p>Beloved husband of the late Ruth (LaMachia). Father of Andrea Close and her husband, Paul, of Canton, Nancy Athanassiadis and her husband, Georgios, of Albany, NY, and the late Joseph Pavidis. Father-in-law of Joan Pavidis of Holbrook. Also survived by seven grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.</p>

He graduated from Canton High School in 1985 and the University of New Hampshire. He was a sports enthusiast and played Little League baseball, basketball at Canton High School, and was an avid golfer and a member of the Wampatuck Golf Club.</p>
<p>He previously worked for Robert Half International in Braintree and was the owner of South Shore Staffing in Canton and a member of the board of directors of the South Shore Chamber of Commerce. He was a devout Catholic and was previously an active parishioner at St. Cecilia Church in Boston.</p>
<p>Beloved son of Jane (Kennealey) and William J. McDaid of Canton. Brother of Linda A. McDaid of CA, Jennifer Garbuzinski of North Attleboro, and William J. McDaid Jr. and his wife, Esther, of NY. Uncle of Michael J. and John P. Garbuzinski of North Attleboro. Close personal friend of Father Dan Magni of Canton, formerly of Lowell.</p>
<p>A funeral mass was held Monday morning, May 6, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. She went on to graduate from Bridgewater State College and received her MBA in speech pathology from Northeastern University. She worked for Criterion Childhood Early Intervention in Stoneham and Milford as a speech pathologist.</p>
<p>She loved Cape Cod, especially spending time with her family at their house in Falmouth. She loved children and her son Noah was the center of her world.</p>
<p>Beloved wife of Brian K. Devoted mother of Noah F. Cherished daughter of Dawn and Richard Flanagan of Canton. Sister of Julie Flanagan-Clarke and her husband, John, of Quincy. Daughter-in-law of Robert and Mary Chase of Walpole. Also survived by several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.thecantoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/doyle-john.jpg"><img class="alignleft  wp-image-20376" alt="doyle, john" src="http://www.thecantoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/doyle-john-240x300.jpg" width="107" height="134" /></a>Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston schools and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. He worked as a foreman for the MBTA for over 20 years and retired in 2001. He has lived in Canton for 49 years where he was a member of the American Legion Post #24.</p>
<p>Beloved husband of Mildred I. (Gachon). Loving son of the late Nora Feeney and John Doyle. Father of Kathleen A. Doyle-Winslow and her husband, David Winslow, of Upton, John F. III and his wife, Tracy, of FL, Gregg P. and his wife, Nicole, of PA, Richard T. and his wife, Gina, of NC, and Brian L. Doyle of Norton. Brother of Ann Cholewinski of South Boston, Lawrence Doyle of Holbrook, and the late Thomas Mahan. Also survived by eight grandchildren.</p>
<p>A funeral mass was held Tuesday morning, April 30, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Donations in his memory may be made to the Canton Veterans Service Department, 801 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray &amp; Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.thecantoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Ascher.jpg"><img class="alignleft  wp-image-20372" alt="Ascher" src="http://www.thecantoncitizen.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/05/Ascher-241x300.jpg" width="97" height="121" /></a>Lowell grew up in South Dakota. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he met his wife. He served in Korea during the Korean War. Later, he graduated from Northeastern University and the new couple decided to settle in this area and raise a family. Lowell worked as a sales engineer for Hewlett-Packard for 31 years.</p>
<p>An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing and spent many days fly fishing on the Cape Cod Canal. He was a longtime member of the Recreational Fishing Alliance. He also enjoyed gardening, especially growing his own vegetables, which all his neighbors were able to enjoy. He loved spending time with his family.</p>
<p>Beloved husband of Patricia (Tangney) Ascher. Loving father of Joseph Ascher of Novato, CA, Julie Ascher of Santa Barbara, CA, Mary Kazan of Clinton, NJ, and Valerie Odell of Sandwich. Cherished grandfather of Eric, Christina, Dennis, Angela, Bob, John, Brandon, Kailee, and Mark, and great-grandfather to Tyler, Ryan, Mya, and Lyla. Brother of the late Gladys, Elmer, Irene, Luella and Kenneth. Lowell also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and good friends.</p>
<p>Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service in the Derby Clubhouse at Linden Ponds in Hingham on Thursday, May 2, at 4 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lowell may be made to the Salvation Army, 6 Baxter St., Quincy, MA 02169.
