Marini, Elena

Elena Marini, 97, of Canton, passed away July 29 at Norwood Hospital.

Born in Boston, she was raised in Hyde Park and has lived in Canton since 1971. She was a member of the Jolly Aces Senior Group in Hyde Park and worked as a secretary for Investors Bank & Trust Co. for 15 years before retiring in 1986. Elena was an avid Bingo player. Known as the “fun aunt,” her life revolved around her family, especially her nieces, nephews, grand and great-grand nieces and nephews.

Aunt of Leona Hanrahan and her husband, Neal, of CT, Leonard Marini and his wife, Sallie, of Natick, Steven Marini and his wife, Louise, of MD, and the late Donald Marini, Rita Coppola, and William and Margaret Tocci. Sister of the late Lena Tocci, Maria Marini and Anthony Marini.

Funeral mass in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton on Saturday at 10 a.m. Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Saturday prior to the mass from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. For guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
