William D. “Bill” Cohen passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 6, 2019 at the age of 62.

Born in Boston, Bill lived in Canton his entire life. He graduated from Canton High School and was the founder/owner of W.D. Cohen Contracting Corp. from 1978 to present. Bill served on many boards in the town of Canton throughout the years, including the Purchasing Committee, Capital Outlay Committee, and as chairman of the Reservoir Pond Advisory Committee.

Bill was a member of the Canton Town Club, The Ridge Club in Sandwich, and a proud member of Wampatuck Country Club in Canton where he oversaw vast improvements to the golf course and clubhouse over the last two decades and was serving in his 20th year as president.

One of Bill’s greatest joys was serving as president of Canton Little League for five years. Under his guidance, he was instrumental in constructing the first new baseball diamond in 50 years (Sullivan Field) and secured funding through the Board of Selectmen for new lights at Sullivan, Crawford and Ruane fields.

Cohen Jr. and his wife, Michelle, of Canton. He leaves many nieces, nephews and cousins.
