Eleanor A. “Ellie” Gottwald (Neas), 88, of Lakeville and Safety Harbor, FL, formerly of Canton, passed away January 25 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.

Born in Boston, she was raised in Hyde Park and graduated from St. Gregory’s High School in Dorchester. Ellie loved spending time with her family, and her 14 grandchildren were her pride and joy. Along with her husband, Bill, Ellie loved camping in New England during the summer and spending winters with her friends in Safety Harbor, FL. Ellie was an adored school bus driver in Canton for many years and loved all her kids.

Beloved wife for 65 years of William E. Mother of Deborah Barry and her husband, Robert, of Stoughton, William Gottwald, Jr. and his wife, Donna, of Berkley, Janet Driscoll and her husband, Dennis, of Lakeville, Richard Gottwald and his husband, James Harden, of Washington, D.C., Susan M. Paschal and her husband, James, of Canton, and Kevin Gottwald and his wife, Jacqueline, of Easton. Sister of Eileen MacDonald and David Neas, both of Canton, and the late Veronica Sadatis, Gerald, Edward and Francis Neas. Proud loving grandmother of 14 grandchildren.
