By

Bridget D’Amore (Campagna) passed away peacefully on October 7 surrounded by family.

Bridget was born in the West End of Boston. She lived with her parents for a short time in Wisconsin before moving back to Boston and was raised primarily in the Italian North End. At a social dance in the North End of Boston, she met Alfredo D’Amore. The couple married in 1963 and they enjoyed 53 years of marriage before his death just one month ago.

Bridget and Alfredo settled in Quincy to raise their family. Bridget worked at Boston University part-time for over 20 years in order to provide her four children with a private Catholic school education. She was extremely proud that all four graduated from BU. In later years, after her grandchildren were born, she and Alfredo moved to Canton to be closer to them and saw them almost every day. Bridget was a devoted mom, grandmother, and Catholic.

Beloved wife for 53 years of the late Alfredo G. Bridget is survived by her children: Rachel D’Amore-Bonish and her husband, Jeff Bonish, of Stow, Robert D’Amore of Norwood, Laura D’Amore and her husband, Richard Johnson, of Canton, and Linda D’Amore and her husband, John de Szendeffy, of Sharon. Bridget was also “Grammy” to her grandchildren: Marisa Bonish, Simon, Luke and Theodore Johnson, and Audrey and Myles de Szendeffy. She is also survived by her sister Rita Pagliuca and her two sons, and many aunts and cousins.

A funeral mass was held Thursday in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
