Margaret M. Stapleton (Dalton), 86, of Canton and Popponesset Beach, formerly of West Roxbury, passed away September 19 surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Lynn, she was raised in West Roxbury, graduated from Roslindale High School, and has lived in Canton since 1974. She enjoyed summering in Popponesset Beach and spending winters at Coral Beach in Puerto Rico. She was a devoted wife, mother, Grammie, and an avid Red Sox fan.

Beloved wife of the late Donald M., Sr. Mother of Margaret M. Cohan and her husband, Dennis, of Madison, CT, Kathleen S. Driscoll and her husband, Richard, of Easton, Michael P. Stapleton and his wife, Louise, of Canton, Maureen P. Bosteels of Canton, Denise M. Fay and her husband, David, of Foxboro, and Donald M. Stapleton, Jr. and his wife, Nancy, of Foxboro. Sister of the late John and Robert Dalton. Proud Grammie of Joseph, Elizabeth, Maggie, Colleen, Thomas, Nora, Abigail, Michael, Meghan, Matthew, Robert, Patrick, Aidan, Finn and Grace. Beloved daughter of the late Margaret (Roach) and Dennis Dalton.

A funeral mass was held Tuesday in St. Theresa of Avila Church in West Roxbury. Burial VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Margaret’s family would like to thank her caregivers, Janine Berardi, Irene Flaherty, Tracey Malone, Lucy McGrath, Fiona Murphy, Tracey Murray, and Helen O’Leary, whose kindness, devotion, and beautiful care was greatly appreciated.
