Paul E. Hagen, 80, of Brockton, died September 1, 2018 at Massachusetts General Hospital after a brief illness.

Paul was the loving husband for 56 years of Florence Anne (Chisholm) Hagen. Born in Norwood, he was a son of the late Laura E. (Farrell) Hagen. He was raised in Canton and was a graduate of Canton High School. For 41 years Paul worked at Massachusetts General Hospital as a security officer, retiring in 2012.

He was dedicated to his church and God and was a longtime volunteer at St. Joseph’s Manor, enjoying time spent with the residents. He enjoyed physical fitness and boxing and was an avid member of Centre City Gym. He also enjoyed reading, music, sports, and his numerous pets over the years.

Paul is also survived by his children, Paul Michael and his wife, Mary, of Bridgewater, Daniel E. of Saugus, and Brenna (Lynn) Hagen of Fitchburg; and his grandchildren, Michael, Thomas and Joseph Hagen, all of Bridgewater, and Daniel and James Hagen of Saugus. He was the brother of Carol Romanelli of Stoughton, Richard J. Hagen of Canton, and the late Albert J. Hagen. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and in-laws.

A funeral mass was held Thursday in Christ the King Church in Brockton. Burial will be at a later date.
