Dana W. Nahigyan, 90, of Canton, formerly of Wakefield, died Monday, February 19, at Royal of Fairhaven.

nahigyan2Born in Malden on December 12, 1927, he was the son of the late Souren and Ruth (Green) Nahigyan.

Dana was a graduate of Wakefield High School. He was an Army veteran of World War II. After the war he enrolled at the University of Massachusetts on the GI Bill. Dana eventually made his home in Canton. After a long and successful career as a sales associate, he retired from Slade Gorton Fish Co. of Boston.

Dana was the beloved husband of the late Laura (Priesing) Nahigyan. He was the loving father of the late Peter Nahigyan and brother of the late Donald and Bruce Nahigyan and Arkie Saucier. He was the loving father in-law of Debi Nahigyan of Long Beach, CA. Dana was also the adoring grandfather of Pierce, Derek, and Holly. Dana is also survived by his loving companion Mart Hilchey of Randolph.

A funeral service will be held at the McDonald Funeral Home, 19 Yale Ave. in Wakefield, on Saturday, March 3, at 11 a.m. Visitation for relatives and friends will be held at the funeral home prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. Interment Lakeside Cemetery, Wakefield.
