Praise for local state trooper and coverage

By

Dear Editor:

Thank you for your recent article on State Trooper Ryan Sceviour.

When I read the initial Boston Globe blurb reporting on the federal lawsuit by Trooper Ryan Sceviour against Colonel Richard McKeon (former superintendent of the Massachusetts State Police), I thought that the “powers-that-be” would likely make all this ugliness go away. (Any word on former State Senator Brian Joyce, for example?) Indeed, if Governor Charlie Baker and others had their way, the matter of record tampering at the highest level of public safety would have quietly evaporated into the murky ether known as “Mass politics-as-usual.”

Sadly, it may yet.

Regardless, it is in stark contrast to our feckless governor and the old-boy network of career politicians running Beacon Hill that Trooper Sceviour stands out for his convictions and courage. I am so proud that he is a son of our town and of our police department. That he is also a former Canton High grad is all the more gratifying!

Sincerely,

John Bonnanzio
