CHS alum wins Amica Newport Half Marathon

Canton’s Sean McNeil crosses the finish line of the Amica Newport Half Marathon.
Canton native Sean McNeil finished first overall in last weekend’s Amica Newport Half Marathon in Newport, Rhode Island. The 2009 Canton High graduate and Stonehill College alumnus battled the humidity and wind to complete the challenging 13.1-mile course in 1:17:51. “It was a great course out there today, tough conditions,” said McNeil, who sprinted across the finish line. More than 3,000 runners competed in this weekend’s 2017 Amica Newport Marathon, which raised a total of more than $80,000 for local and regional charities.
