Passion for public service didn’t end on election night

By

Dear Editor:

First, I would like to thank all of my friends and family for their love and support over the last few months and the past few days. The election didn’t go the way we planned, but that won’t stop my passion for public service. I wish the best of luck to the Board of Selectmen and I truly hope they become effective leaders for the citizens of Canton. I would also like to thank Vic Del Vecchio for his many years of service, and I am hopeful that he will continue to stay involved as his voice is an important one in our community.

Over the past week I have heard from many of our friends and neighbors urging that I stay involved. If I have learned anything over the last few months, it is to never give up. I will put my name forward again in the future. Public service is at my core and I will always find ways to improve the lives of those in this community.

In the meantime, I will carefully keep an eye on the issues, which is the job of every citizen. That is the essence of a true democracy, and I encourage all others to do the same. Until then, government is run by those who show up, so stay involved, stay informed, and I will see you at town meeting on May 8, 2017!
