CHS indoor track teams end season at D4 meet
By Mike BergerSeveral members of the CHS boys and girls indoor track team qualified for the Division 4 Indoor Track & Field Championships by virtue of individual and relay performances during the season. The highest finishers were Muhammad Sambo, who placed eighth overall in the boys 300m (37:14); Hannah Link, who took 10th in the girls 300m (43.75); and Sarah Collins, who placed 10th in the 600m with a personal-best time of 1:43.37.
Two relay teams also ran their season-best times. The girls 4×200 relay finished 16th in 1:53.34 behind Nicole Brown, Leianna Brune, Collins, and Link. The boys 4×200 relay finished 17th in 1:38.84 behind Will Amico, Matt Floyd, Riley McDonnell, and Sambo.
Other CHS qualifiers for the state meet were James Polsgrove in the two-mile, 27th, 13:19.85; and John Guenthner, 55m hurdles, 19th, 8.7 seconds (PR).
Two other CHS relays competed at the Division 4 meet: the girls 4×400 took 20th behind Shannon Crowley, Maggie Dunn, Amanda Doria, and Link, and the boys 4×400 finished 23rd behind Nick Kuk, Gerry Sullivan, Mike Mazzola, and Guenthner.
