Andersen, James P.

James P. Andersen, Sr., 92, of Canton, passed away August 22 at the Tippett House in Needham.

Born and raised in Engelwood, Colorado, he graduated from Littleton High School in Colorado and the University of Colorado in Boulder Class of 1949. He went on to serve as a pilot in the Navy during World War II and was the 24th pilot to land on Midway. While working at MIT, he founded Dynamics Research Corporation in Andover and later worked as a mechanical engineer for NASA and the Department of Transportation at Volpe National Transportation Center before retiring …
