Don’t miss Brookwood Community Farm’s third annual farm-to-table dinner, honoring Brookwood’s co-founder Judy Lieberman and celebrating 10 years of growing! All proceeds from this dinner go directly to support the farm’s food justice programs.

The dinner will take place on Sunday, September 20, from 4-7 p.m. at the Bradley Estate, 2468 Washington Street in Canton. This not-to-be-missed event will feature a farm-to-table dinner with all locally sourced food prepared by Joan MacIsaac of Effie’s Homemade, local celebrity chef Didi Emmons, and Simca Horwitz of Bushel & Crumb, as well as an open bar of craft beer and wine. There will also be live music, a silent auction, and other opportunities for guests to have fun while supporting Brookwood.

Tickets for the farm dinner are on sale now and may be purchased online at www.brookwoodcommunityfarm.org. Tickets sold out quickly last year, so buy your tickets now if you want to attend!

Brookwood is much more than just a local organic farm growing good food for its members. Since its founding in 2006, the farm has worked hard to ensure that the food grown at Brookwood gets to areas where fresh food is hard to find and often too expensive for low-income residents. To do this, Brookwood has partnered with a number of food pantries, shelters and neighborhood organizations throughout the metro-Boston area to bring fresh food where it is needed most.

In 2014, Brookwood donated over $32,000 in produce to its neighbors. Recipients included the Germantown Neighborhood Pantry in Quincy; Rosie’s Place in Boston; the Haitian America Public Health Initiative pantry in Mattapan; the Milton Food Pantry; the Canton Food Pantry; and a number of other local programs and events.

To meet its commitment to food justice, Brookwood has to raise $50,000 each year to support its programs. This dinner is a small part of the fundraising the farm does all year to keep its food donation programs growing. We hope you will join us on September 20 to celebrate the harvest’s bounty with good friends and share our commitment to good food for all!
