The Canton Historical Society recently completed three photograph albums of every Canton High School graduate since the very first class in 1869.

The albums were completed by Historical Society members Susan O’Neill and Marie Duffy. The three albums were presented to Jim Halley, president of the Canton High School Alumni Association, Mark Lague, director of the Canton Public Library, and Paul Mitcheroney, president of the Historical Society, and will be available to the general public at each location.

The funds for the research and compilation of these records came from the Paul R. Matthews Charitable Foundation. A lifelong resident, Matthews had served on the Canton School Committee and played an important role in the development and education of the students of Canton. The Canton Historical Society is grateful to Suzanne Matthews and the Paul R. Matthews Charitable Foundation for their generous grant to complete this project.
