Jimmy Fund Walk team to host Trivia Night

By

Support finding a cure for cancer one trivia question at a time! On Friday, July 31, the Steps for Life team will hold a Trivia Night fundraiser to benefit the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund for cancer research.

The event will be held at the Canton Town Club, located at 300 Bailey Street. The doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the competition begins promptly at 7:30 p.m.

Gold, silver and bronze awards will be given to the top three teams. Each team will consist of eight players, and the cost to participate is $20 per team member. Individuals who do not have a team can be placed on one and are encouraged to participate. Pre-registration is encouraged, but teams or individuals may register at the door. Trivia questions will be asked by Mark Morris. The categories could be anything!

The Canton Town Club will provide a cash bar. Popcorn and a generous donation of pizza provided by Stone L’Oven will be available (while it lasts). Teams are also invited to bring their own snacks.

In addition to the trivia contest there will be Mystery Gift Balloons for sale. For only $25 you will be able to purchase a balloon with a gift attached valued at $25 or greater! Gifts include F1 Boston passes, Elements Massage, Blue Hills Brewery, Kings Bowling, and gift certificates from the Baseball Tavern in Boston, Stone L’Oven, Halfway Café, Canton Village Wine & Spirits, Junction Bar & Grill, MacDonald’s, and more.

The Steps for Life team consists of individuals walking the Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk on September 27. Walkers choose one of four routes: 26.2 miles, 13.1 miles, five miles, or one mile. The funds raised through the walk enable leaders at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute to apply monies rapidly when promising new research opportunities arise. Steps for Life is seeking new members to join the team. If interested, please contact Kathy or Allyson at the phone numbers listed below.

The Dana-Farber Cancer Institute has been the top-ranked cancer hospital in New England by U.S. News and World Report for 14 consecutive years, and is the only cancer center in the country ranked in the top four for both adult and pediatric cancer programs.

Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund are able to use donations to speed the translation of laboratory discoveries into lifesaving treatments for patients all over the world.

It takes more than courage to beat cancer! We need your support. Help the Steps for Life team raise funds to find a cure. One hundred percent of the proceeds will go to Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund.
