Police seek public’s help to find missing Canton girl

Update: The Canton Police Department reported that the missing female student has been located and is safe. The police thanks the public and local law enforcement agencies for their assistance. 

The Canton Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 15-year-old girl from Canton, Lajanae Russell.

On Wednesday, September 17, at approximately 5 p.m., the Canton Police Department received a call from a resident stating that his daughter was not home and had not attended school all day. Initial information has led investigators to believe that she left her home of her own free will and possibly may be meeting up with an individual she met online. In the past she has been known to frequent the Taunton/Brockton area.

The police are seeking the public’s assistance in helping to locate her and return her safely to her family. If anyone has any information on her whereabouts, please contact Sgt. Charles Rae 781-828-1214 (ext. 204) or Det. Charles Yeaton at 781-828-1214 (ext. 304).
