Pleasant St. roundabout a worthwhile endeavor

By

Dear Editor:

As a former resident of Pleasant Street, I respectfully disagree with Joe DeFelice’s conclusion that the proposed roundabout would be “a waste of money” (Man About Canton, August 21). I have followed the controversy regarding a proposed roundabout in Oak Bluffs for the last five years. Every conceivable argument against it was raised — and even litigation ensued. However, it is now built and traffic flows at the intersection far smoother and safer than it ever did before. As one who travels Pleasant Street daily, I applaud the selectmen and DPW Superintendent Mike Trotta for this very worthwhile proposal.

Sincerely,

Paul A. Schneiders
