Carroll, John F.
By Canton CitizenJohn F. Carroll Jr., 89, a lifelong resident of Canton, died peacefully August 14, 2014.
Born in Canton, John attended Canton elementary schools and graduated from Mission Church High School in Roxbury. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and Korea. John was a member of the American Legion Post #24 in Canton. He worked for AT&T for over 30 years and after retirement started his own telephone service business, Jack’s Contracting, in Canton.
Devoted husband of the late Rose M. (Fahey). Loving father of John Carroll and his late wife, Andrea, of WI, Robert Carroll and his wife, Kathleen, of Canton, Thomas Carroll and his wife, Roberta, of Brockton, William Carroll of Canton, and James Carroll and his wife, Sue, of WV. Brother of the late Eleanor James, Mary Ronan, Sister Caroline Carroll, and Elizabeth Cash. Proud grandfather of 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, August 18, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. Arrangements by the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street.
