The Canton American Legion Post 24 baseball team ended the 2014 season on a high note, beating playoff-bound Holbrook 1-0 in a rain-shortened, six-inning game. Canton finished the season in sixth place in the nine-team East Division of District 6 with a record of 11-12.

Kevin Powers, a rising junior at Canton High School, pitched superbly in the win, limiting Holbrook to two hits while striking out four. Canton scored its only run early in the game on an RBI single by Griffin Jerrier.
