Hammond, Joseph P.

Joseph P. Hammond, 56, of Canton, passed away suddenly July 19 at Norwood Hospital.

Born in Cambridge, he was raised in Dedham and graduated from Dedham High School. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked for many years as a carpenter. He has lived in Canton since 1989 and in his free time enjoyed fishing with his nephews.

Beloved husband of Demetra (Bitsikas). Loving son of James of KY and the late Marie Hammond. Brother of Karen Pellegrine and her husband, Mark, of Canton, Cheryl Morello and her husband, Peter, of FL, Jimmy Hammond and his wife, Joanne, of FL, and the late David M. Hammond. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and grandnieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held Wednesday, July 23, in St. Mary’s Church in Dedham. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. For guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
