The truck pull will start at 10 a.m. on the campus of Boston College. Teams of 10 individuals will get the chance to pull a full-sized moving van, a box truck, and one of the famous Duck Boats from Boston Duck Tours. A team’s combined times for each pull will then determine the event’s winners.

Registration is open for the first 30 teams so people are encouraged to enter a team at www.humboldttruckpull.com. Many teams are already signed up with several more indicating interest.

Other moving companies in Boston as well as teams of police, fitness enthusiasts and other corporate teams participated in last year’s inaugural event, raising over $13,000 for the health and sports programs of Special Olympics Massachusetts.

“We wanted to host a fundraising event that could benefit from our industry resources as well as our network of corporate contacts we’ve built over the years,” said James Sullivan, president of Humboldt Storage and Moving. “Our other goal, of course, was to assist an organization that inspired us, and Special Olympics has done just that.”

A minimum entry fee of $1,000 for a team of 10 individuals gets that team a spot at the event and the chance to pull the trucks. Lunch, beverages and an event t-shirt are all included.
