Berman shines in collegiate debut

Recent Canton High School graduate and high school soccer All-American Lauren Berman is off to an impressive start at the University of Maryland.

Berman, who set a record while at CHS for most career points, already has five points through her first four collegiate games, including a goal and two assists in the Terrapins’ 9-0 romp over the Citadel in their August 23 season opener.

A week later, Berman scored a goal and assisted on another in a 3-0 win over George Mason.

Maryland, which plays in the Atlantic Coast Conference, is currently ranked No. 15 in the nation with an overall record of 4-0. The Terrapins will travel to California this weekend for games against Santa Clara and No. 2 Stanford. The squad hosts fellow ACC opponent Boston College on Sunday, October 27.
