Canton LL to host Pitch, Hit & Run event

By

On Saturday, May 11, beginning at 2 p.m., Canton Little League will host the local Pitch Hit & Run competition at the Kennedy School baseball complex, located at 100 Dedham Street.

Pitch, Hit & Run is the official skills competition of Major League Baseball. It is free of charge and is open to all boys and girls ages 7-14. Kids will pitch to a target, hit off a batting tee for distance, and run the bases for points. Boys and girls are divided into four age divisions (7/8, 9/10, 11/12 and 13/14) and have the chance to advance through four levels of competition, including the finals at the 2013 MLB All-Star Game.

The individual pitching, hitting and running champions, along with the all-around champion in each age and gender group at the Canton competition will be awarded and will advance to the sectional competition, also hosted by Canton Little League.

All participants must bring a copy of their birth certificate so ages can be verified.
